What the Year 2013 Means for You

2013 year of the snakeThe year 2013 is the year of the black water snake according to the Chinese calendar. I have a feeling that the fashion flair for this year would be the simple short black dresses for most trendy women. Well, I am no fashion guru nor a fashion forecaster, so let’s just look at what 2013 generally has in store for us according to the Chinese calendar and zodiac signs.

As always, we are bombarded with predictions in the advent of every new year. Psychics, fortune-tellers, tarot card readers, feng shui experts and other so-called experts in the paranormal seem to vie with one another to come out with the most authentic scenario for the coming year. I’ve seen some live interviews on television and quite interestingly they have a lot of commonalities in what they say.

However, I was always fascinated by predictions based on the Chinese calendar and zodiac signs. Not that I tend to compare them, but one good thing with the Chinese zodiac is you can always go back to it anytime. Unlike other predictions by ‘experts’ where you have to catch up and write what they say if you want to keep them for some future reference and see how they fare as the year moves along. (There are some sites that publish their predictions though).

For the Chinese calendar and zodiac signs, here is what it says about you in 2013. Simply find your animal sign below based on your birth year and read about 2013 predictions of your animal sign.

Below is the table of the Chinese calendar covering the period 1936 to 2007. You can use this animal sign of your birth year to find what the year 2013 means to you as shown further below.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Snake
It’s going to be a quiet year so don’t expect too much. It’s best to play things by ear and let things evolve organically. There will be times when the way ahead will not seem clear and choices will not be easy to make. However, because the snake is wise and patient, it will be acceptable for the snake to wait it out and not make rush decisions. The best way to put this is that it will be a year of consolidation, not so much moving ahead.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Horse
High energy as the horse is, this is probably going to be a tough year for those born in the year of the horse. As the snake is patient, so the horse is impatient. Circumstances will force those born in the year of the horse to slow down their usual pace. Because things can go amiss this year, it’s probably best for those born in the year of the horse to ask second opinions and third opinions or work closely with others during 2013.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Sheep
Although the sheep will also have the handle the slow pace of the water snake year, luck and success are the bywords for the 2013 year. The quiet peace will enable the sheep to expand his/her circle of friends and business clients as the pace of the water snake is more suited to its needs. The natural friendliness of the sheep will, ironically, result in far more friends and contacts this year than in the frenetic year of the 2012 dragon.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Monkey
The year of the water snake is not Monkey’s best year. They are not suited to the slow pace with the cloudy perspective. This will be a year of tests for those born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the monkey and they should, perhaps, sit back, and focus their attention on something that will fit the pace of a slow year. Getting impatient will just get them into trouble. Nothing will be gained, and because the snake year is sneaky, mischievous monkeys could find themselves in hot water if they do not compromise this year.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Rooster
The Rooster is most definitely not be his/her normal hardworking self this year. No matter what s/he does, things won’t seem to work out. As with those born in the year of the water snake, it’s probably best to consolidate.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Dog
Like the sheep, the dog will do well this year. This doesn’t mean that the dog will not come face to face with the slow-moving obstacles that will hit everyone this year; it just means that the nature of the dog moves well at the pace of the water snake. This enables the dog to achieve his/her goals with a bit of avoidance strategy (avoiding the bumps). The dog should not be tempted to give up when things don’t seem to move forward; just keep going. It’s a slow year.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Boar
Those born in the year of the Boar might gain something this year if they go with the flow – the water flow of the water snake, that is. The word is ‘might.’ In order for the boar to bet ahead this year, s/he will have to have some help from friends. The Water Snake year is not one known for its clarity, and if you think about a snake swimming in water, it wiggles around a lot. That’s what 2013 is going to be like – twists and turns. So if you’re born in the year of the boar, best you take up with friends and/or even get solid professional advice, and then keep to a slow pace. That way, you may get through the year without too much loss.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Rat
The rat is not going to have the best of years. Like everybody else this year, things are going to go real slow and all sorts of obstacles will present themselves when least expected. The Rat should think of it as trying to steer in a foggy sea with large waves. The best thing for those born under this sign to do is to sit tight this year, preferably in safe havens, work steadily, and seek expert opinion before making decisions.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Ox
Essentially, slow-moving signs will do well in the year of the ox. The ox, of course, is slow-moving as his/her pace matches that of the water snake. The secret for the success for those born in the year of the ox is to match their pace to that of the snake – even if that means going just a little slower and in a more roundabout way. Both relationships and business will flourish this year for the ox. Remember, however, it is a water snake year, and there are traps ahead. Take them into consideration. Move slowly!

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Tiger
Those born in the year of the tiger will do okay in most areas this year. The love life will probably not be so good and there is the hint of break ups brought by the natural trickery of a snake year. This is a year of taking it one day at a time and doing some thinking before getting involved or taking action.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Rabbit
The Rabbit will not be counting so many coins this year. Quite plainly, things will not be happening. Again, a very slow year and some animals of the zodiac will cope with it better than others. This could be a very frustrating year for the rabbit who likes things to make logical sense. Of course, the snake moves forward in wiggles that makes no sense to anyone else. The rabbit will face unexpected events this year and the way to handle them is to be prepared for the fact that it will be a year of the unexpected. It cannot be planned for.

2013 Predictions for those born in the Year of the Dragon
Well, after an incredibly successful 2012, can life be that unfair that it gives another highly successful year to those born under the sign of the dragon? Absolutely, it can! Things will not go as smoothly as they normally do for the charming dragon, but that charm will be able to talk its way around the obstacles. (Source: Google)

Please don’t get affected if you find the year 2013 not too rosy for you according to the Chinese Zodiac. You should rather look at it as guide as it gives you ways on how to maneuver around to make the year advantageous and beneficial to you still. Remember, how you think (believe in your capacities) and do (work your way to achieving your goal) are mostly the ones that would matter.

May the new year 2013 brings a lot of new and better things for all of us. Happy New Year!

Well, like I said this is more for fun, and it will help I think that we are reminded how to cope up. Our faith in God and how we try to create our future are still the more potent ones. Thank you Hannah for the visit.
