“Masterpiece. No matter where you are (and where you’ve been), I’m certain you’ve stumbled upon something extraordinary: a place that blows your mind; a work of art or object that speaks to you; or even a location or scene that’s special, unusual, or even magical in some way.” -The Daily Post
A location or scene that’s always special. Yes. That is always how Manila Bay is to me especially when the sun is about to set. Manila Bay sunset is such an amazing masterpiece of nature and everyday seems to be a little bit different from previous ones.
As one follows the setting of the sun at Manila Bay, one would find an amazing western horizon that changes in color, magic and charm as the sun slowly goes down and seems to appear bigger and bigger as it touches the edge of the sea. The sun’s rays display an array of changing colors, styles and patterns depending on the cloud formation, time of the day, weather condition and one’s location which is why every sunset at Manila Bay seems to be a little bit different from previous ones.
Watch this gallery of shots below:
Whenever I am in Manila, I always make it a point to reserve a room at my favorite hotel fronting the Manila Bay. I never miss a chance to have some shots of the amazing sunset at Manila Bay.
One time, as I went down from my hotel to join some promenaders along Roxas Boulevard, or to be more specific, along a bay-walk path constructed by the Manila City Government to add more fun, ease and comfort for sunset viewers, I find the sunset so different that I thought I will have to have click on my camera for this one because this may not be repeated in the next few days, months or even years.
Watch this:
This is indescribable, I think. All I could say was the evening’s serenity, the calmness of the sea, the stillness of the western horizon, and the laziness of the supposedly bustling surroundings all contributed to how this particular image of sunset at Manila came about. It was SO amazing, magical and awesome. The sky appeared light golden black and the sea was just its darker or bolder version. The sun was a perfect golden yellow circle with some white spots on it. The whole view was nothing less than magical, wonderful, or simply unbelievable, yet so true.
Thank goodness that I had set my camera at the right time, place and settings. Now, I think, I got a true masterpiece of nature which I am not certain if it will happen again at some future time.
You’re totally right… Indescribable is what it is, There is something I felt on the inside looking at those pictures that simply cannot be put in words. thank you for sharing

You are welcome, Karen. Indeed, we have lots of world-class tourist spots to show the world. It’s not only more fun in the Philippines but also more beautiful. El Nido, Puerto Galera, Dakak, and Boracay are consistent world topnotch beaches. Surigao is the surfing capital of Asia, and a lot more. And yet, these beautiful tourist spots are the most affordable. That is one of the primary reasons why we are among the top tourist destinations in this part of Asia in addition to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Thank you, Karen, for this visit.

You are right. Sometimes, I get offended when our destinations do not belong to the list of must-see places in Southeast Asia, when we have a lot of beautiful landscapes.
